| HEV-IgG

Hepatitis E Virus (HEV) is a small, non-enveloped, single-stranded RNA virus classified in the Hepeviridae family. It has at least 8 genotypes, with genotypes 1-4 causing human infections. Genotypes 1 and 2 are human-specific and transmitted via contaminated water, while genotypes 3 and 4 are zoonotic (spread via undercooked pork or game). HEV primarily infects hepatocytes, causing acute hepatitis with symptoms like jaundice, fatigue, and abdominal pain. Most cases resolve spontaneously, but immunocompromised individuals may develop chronic infection, and pregnant women (especially with genotype 1) face high mortality (~20%).

| Recovery

The recovery of Pig HEV-IgG spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.
 

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Pig HEV-IgG and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
